September 2009. Odd marks on the leaves of Scaevola sericea (Sericea
taccada
) (naupaka) recently seen on Maui (Hawaii, USA). The photos are at:

Member did not know what caused the marking, but there was a suggestion that one of the larger sucking insects could be responsible, one that injects toxic saliva or has such large mouthparts that necrosis occurs around the puncture. For example, Homoptera like Cercopidae, Membracidae, Delphacidae, Fulgoridae or Heteroptera: Miridae, Coreidae, Pentatomidae.
