Bracharia decumbens seeds

January 2005. Insects intercepted from signal grass, Bracharia decumbens, seeds imported by Fiji from Australia.

The Australian Museum and CSIRO Entomology gave the following suggestions:

Left photo:

  • Leiochrine Tenebrionid – not a pest species – (bottom left)
  • Coccinellid, Micraspis frenata (not a pest species) (bottom right)
  • Carabid, probably pterostichine – not a pest – (top right)
  • Weevil, could be a grass pest (top left); possibly a curculionid (Curculionidae)
