Opisinia arenosella Minimize

 

October 2007. A question from the Department of Agriculture, Thailand, asked if the insect illustrated was Opisinia arenosella, the black-headed caterpillar. An outbreak of the caterpillar has occurred in the south of the country.

It was confirmed that it was Opisinia arenosella. Considering the quarantine importance of the pest, it was advised to get the identification confirmed by a specialist.
