Unknown disease var. P10, Samoa
Unknown disease: P10
A disease is infecting a taro cultivar (Palau 10) in Samoa - picture attached. This is observed to be affecting 5-6 months' old taro plants. Petioles emerging without leaves. A longitudinal cross section of the corm shows that the meristem is dead. The disease is possibly affecting corm size. Does anyone have any ideas about the cause?
The variety is known as
Ngeruuch
in Palau. No one shown the photo in Palau recognised the condition.
