Deformed papya fruit, Bogor, Indonesia Minimize

October 2013. A member reported that the bisexual elongated red-fleshed tropical varieties are seldom affected by boron deficiency (which is a possible cause of the symptoms on the fruit) as in sub-tropical, low pH soil with low winter temperatures. Another member thought boron deficiency was a possibility, and drew attention to a fact sheet from the University of Hawaii. http://www.ctahr.hawaii.edu/oc/freepubs/pdf/PD-91.pdf.
