Uromycladium

August 2005. A link to a photograph on Ecoport of a gall on Acacia (Acacia farnesiana) in India. An identification was requested.

The appearance of the gall suggests the rust fungus Uromycladium (Fungi: Uredinales). This agent is a well known parasite of Acacia in Australia. Two other rust genera, Atelocauda and Ravenalia, also cause galls on Acacia.
