June 2016. A curious symptom along the veins on the underside of bay leaves at Otago, New Zealand. What is it?

It was suggested that a few leaves are collected and taken to the nearest MAF office – placed in double plastic bags. The diagnostic lab is in Tamaki, Auckland.
