March 2010. Photos of a mite were sent from Indonesia found on Adenium, a genus of flowering plants in the family Apocynaceae, containing a single species, Adenium obesum – also known as Sabi Star, Kudu or Desert-rose. It is native to tropical and subtropical eastern and southern Africa and Arabia. Apparently the mite makes gold brown-rusty patches on the leaves of bean, too.
Later, an expert in New Zealand stated: A female spider mite (Tetranychidae), obviously of the Tetranychinae: Tetranychini, but generic status is uncertain as characters cannot be seen on the photo.
