Summary

  • Worldwide distribution. In the tropics. On eggplant. A minor disease, not usually needing control measures.
  • Spots start as round yellow flecks, slightly sunken, becoming more irregular with yellow halos. Later, they merge, and the leaves die early.
  • Spores on the underside of the leaves are spread in wind and rain.
  • Cultural control: if control is needed test different varieties as some more tolerant than others.
  • Chemical control: if required use, copper, chlorothalonil, or mancozeb.
