Myllocerus, Pakistan

December 2009. A bug on mangoes in Pakistan; the question was whether this is a pest or not, it was not clear whether it had done the damage to the leaves illustrated in the pictures.

One suggestion was that the bug was near to Myllocerus undatus (Curculionidae; sub-family Entiminae). It is likely that the larvae are feeding on the tree roots. A link to pictures of Myllocerus on the Internet was given:

http://images.google.com/images?q=Myllocerus as well as a Pest Alert:

There were suggestions of chemical control. Also suggested were products containing Metarrhizium anisopliae formulated as a granule for easy application.
