Zachrysia-provisoria, snail, Guadeloupe

October 2012. A report from the Invasive Alien Species in the French verseas territories, CIRAD, Montpellier that a land snail, apparently introduces, has been discovered in Guadeloupe. It is said to be found of orchids! The shell measure 4 cm in length.

It was later reported by the French National Museum of Natural History (Paris) to be Zachrysia provisoria widely distributed in the Caribbean – Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, nevis, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Florida.
