Scorpion, Samoa

April 2006. A scorpion from Samoa, intercepted in a container with supplies from Australia. Its about 1-2 cm long. The same type found before with two young scorpions on its back.

The Cook Islands has a couple of scorpions and they are most likely also in Samoa. There are images on the links below. Obviously, if the specimen is a quarantine intercept these links are going to be of little value.

Bark Scorpion, Liocheles australasiae (HEMISCORPIIDAE, formerly ISCHNURIDAE) is at cookislands.bishopmuseum.org/species.asp
